Kickstart your career transition
The Escape Tribe is a learning-by-doing community experience that will help you take control of your career. It’s not simply about finding your next job – it’s about figuring out what you want and learning how to create exciting opportunities for yourself and building a fulfilling career over the long-term.
We learn best by doing. Concepts are important but it’s only when we implement new ideas that we truly understand them.
Communities give us confidence, hold us accountable, teach us about ourselves, and help us implement new ways of doing and seeing things.
It may not be easy to build a career on your own terms, but by using powerful tools and strategies, it has never been more possible than it is today.
Your Leadership Team
Our educational excellence is a community effort. When you learn at Escape, you can always rely on an in-house team of experts to provide guidance and support, whenever you need it.
You will have a course leader & an assistant who have credible track records in successful career changes, coaching & group facilitation.
You will periodically hear from a variety of teachers and guest speakers with useful advice and deep specialty experience.
You will get to meet previous Tribe members to learn from their experiences.
Explore Success Stories
Laina escaped teaching for her own photography project.
“The Tribe helped me to go back to that better version of myself. I realised it is important to dream about the kind of work you want to do. I now approach things differently – I no longer worry about what other people will think of my career move, I find myself connecting and collaborating with people that I never would have done so previously.”
Tarryn escaped social media marketing to go travelling around the world.
“Right in the beginning of Tribe I had a few revelations about myself, and how I’d become scared of the unknown. I realised that this was quite a recent thing – and that when I was younger, I was living that Escape reality, but didn’t realise it at the time. It was also a period of extreme happiness! So getting over that fear of non-solid job was a pretty big first step.”
Daisy escaped the charity sector to launch her own innovation consultancy.
“My old mindset wanted one big, terrifying leap, not the challenge of many small steps. It was through sharing my inner turmoil with my fellow Tribe members that I found I wasn’t alone. This new mindset of the single step, rather than one giant leap, has given me the confidence to try new things, start new conversations and believe in the potential of myself to create change now.”
Claire escaped accounts management to become a master of her own time, volunteering and engaging with organisations she is deeply interested in.
“The Escape Tribe helped by first exposing my thought routines that stood in the way of me seeing my true potential. Then giving me the persistent nudges to keep on looking at what really got me excited about my place in the world. The more I was forced to look I realised there wasn’t anything standing in my way. It also made me realise that we don’t need to find the answer now, it’s about giving things a try and seeing where they lead.”
Helen works in Education Policy at the Department for Education and is simultaneously working on her own business idea.
“I was fearful of feeling like I was in the wrong Tribe because I quite liked my job. But that wasn’t at all an issue with the Tribe because it was about finding out about yourself (what you value etc) and ways to make progress on other ideas that you have.”
Patrick escaped the management consultancy to launch his own business.
“Previously I would have procrastinated and probably done nothing, now I am very action oriented; I’ve launched my own business, built two websites, and I have also made smaller changes in my life, exercising more and eating healthily which means I’m more energised.”
Brad escaped corporate London to transition into freelance work to support him while he works on his startup venture.
“I never realised the power of a group of like minded people and how much of a positive impact they could have on me until I joined the Tribe. I have written poetry, chased tennis balls and some came to nothing, but for the first time in my life I was OK with that.”
Matt transitioned from a full-time consulting job to solopreneurship.
“Taking action was pivotal for my mindset shift. I shifted from often thinking; “Oh god, what if I fail?” to now thinking, “let’s treat this as one glorious experiment, where I will fail, learn and be okay.” Taking action with the Tribe meant I saw positive outcomes. Taking actions and failing showed me that failure wasn’t ever the catastrophe I anticipated it would be.”
Neelie escaped finance to transition into freelance consultancy.
“The Tribe really helped me see that there’s so much out there and so many different things to do other than the classic types of jobs and ways people live their lives. I’m now convinced we are part of the early adapters of the way work will be seen in the new world.”
What You’ll Learn
Over the course of 12 weeks you will be guided through a learning and doing experience. The course is split into three sections covering 12 main principles for accelerating your career change.
Part 1: Know Yourself
The clues for your right direction are within you. Brave career transitions require good self-knowledge and a resilient mindset.
Part 2: Build Your Toolkit
Figure out what you want by starting DOING. Use your values & interests to undertake small experiments in order to see what works.
Part 3: Sustain Your Journey
The old career model required us all to fit in. Building a career on your own terms requires finding a niche and standing out.
“Such a good investment. I’ve made friends for life as we all share a common goal and mindset. It’s refreshing to know that people are on the same wave length as me and get where I’m going from. The Escape Tribe has not only helped me to build a fulfilling career- but has touched others parts of my life too and given me the tools & encouragement for exploring personal development, which will enrich my life for ever. One of the best experiences ever and I’m so glad I did it!”
Gabrielle, Escape Tribe 2015
“I think the tribe was excellent value for money. I was considering a career coach at one stage (might still consider in future) but I think there is so much more one can gain from a group experience and getting exposure to different career coaches/experts and inspiring people, rather than just working with one person.”
Louanne, Escape Tribe 2015
“I think when it comes to investing in personal development, it always feels like value for money if you come away with changed perceptions, new motivations and new friends. Escape Tribe got gold stars for all these categories!!”
Emily, Escape Tribe 2015
“I feel like I have a really solid framework to resurrect my Escape, which had stalled slightly over the past year due to a lack of direction and confidence. There are so many tools that I have picked up and a really diverse group that I feel I can turn to for motivation. I feel the alumni network will be invaluable over the coming months/years.”
Victoria, Escape Tribe 2015
“Totally worth every penny. Would have paid a lot more over the course of many years for different types of things that wouldn’t have given the same unified effect.“
Juju, Escape Tribe 2015

We love questions, almost as much as we love providing answers. Here are a few samplings of what we’re typically asked, along with our responses:
Who is the Tribe for?
The Escape Tribe is for people who believe life is too short to do work that doesn’t matter.
But more than this – The Escape Tribe is for doers. Your background, experience, industry, etc doesn’t matter. What matters is that you are up for this.
The Escape Tribe is for people who…
- have a track record of being doers / proactive / achievers in some form.
- are feeling stuck in some way but who are determined to make a change.
- think they know what they want to do but need help with the process.
- don’t know what they want to do but are prepared to work to find it out.
- are prepared to step outside their comfort zones to create new opportunities.
- are honest about their excuses and who are prepared to transcend them.
- are prepared to change the way they see the world in order to change their place in it.
- want to solve problems, create things, work hard, and have an impact.
- are prepared to graft and work hard to become excellent at something.
- understand that this process is hard and that it will take time.
The Escape Tribe is NOT for people who…
- It’s not for dreamers who aren’t prepared to become doers.
- It’s not for people whose excuses will sabotage any meaningful forward action.
- It’s not for people who believe that work is something to be endured rather than enjoyed.
- It’s not for people who are hoping for a path to a rewarding career that is both quick and easy.
- It’s not for people for whom external symbols of success are more important than finding ways to do work that is meaningful and fulfilling to them.
Show us that you are this type of person in your application.
