The Escape Tribe is a 12-week career change programme that will help you overcome your fears, find direction, and create exciting new career opportunities for yourself. The Escape Tribe is designed to:
Demystify the career change process for you.
Together with your Tribe, you will be guided through all the key areas you need to know about to take control over your career direction. You’ll progress through a combination of learning and doing.
Help you move from thinking to doing.
If you have an idea for what you want to do next, the Tribe will help you take the first steps to realise it. If you don’t have an idea, you will be encouraged to conduct a series of small experiments to uncover new paths.
Empower you to take control of your career.
Although it can take more than 12 weeks to make a big career change, the Escape Tribe will massively accelerate you in this process, equipping you with the tools & community to take forwards.

What You’ll Learn
Over the course of 12 weeks you will be guided through a learning and doing experience. The course is split into three sections covering 12 main principles for accelerating your career change.
Part 1: Know Yourself
The clues for your right direction are within you. Brave career transitions require good self-knowledge and a resilient mindset.
Part 2: Build Your Toolkit
Figure out what you want by starting DOING. Use your values & interests to undertake small experiments in order to see what works.
Part 3: Sustain Your Journey
The old career model required us all to fit in. Building a career on your own terms requires finding a niche and standing out.

Daisy escaped the charity sector to launch her own innovation consultancy.

Claire escaped accounts management to become a master of her own time, volunteering and engaging with organisations she is deeply interested in.

Brad escaped corporate London to transition into freelance work to support him while he works on his startup venture.
“I never realised the power of a group of like minded people and how much of a positive impact they could have on me until I joined the Tribe. I have written poetry, chased tennis balls and some came to nothing, but for the first time in my life I was OK with that.”
Matt transitioned from a full-time consulting job to solopreneurship.
“Taking action was pivotal for my mindset shift. I shifted from often thinking; “Oh god, what if I fail?” to now thinking, “let’s treat this as one glorious experiment, where I will fail, learn and be okay.” Taking action with the Tribe meant I saw positive outcomes. The Escape Tribe is a learning-by-doing community experience that will help you take control of your career. It’s not simply about finding your next job – it’s about figuring out what you want and learning how to create exciting opportunities for yourself and building a fulfilling career over the long-term.
We learn best by doing. Concepts are important but it’s only when we implement new ideas that we truly understand them.
Communities give us confidence, hold us accountable, teach us about ourselves, and help us implement new ways of doing and seeing things.
It may not be easy to build a career on your own terms, but by using powerful tools and strategies, it has never been more possible than it is today.

Your Leadership Team
Our educational excellence is a community effort. When you learn at Escape, you can always rely on an in-house team of experts to provide guidance and support, whenever you need it.
You will have a course leader & an assistant who have credible track records in successful career changes, coaching & group facilitation.
You will periodically hear from a variety of teachers and guest speakers with useful advice and deep specialty experience.
You will get to meet previous Tribe members to learn from their experiences.
Teachers & Speakers
Over the course of the Tribe you will periodically hear from a variety of guest speakers with useful experience and advice, including other Escape team members in their specialist areas. Hearing different perspectives on psychology, philosophy, entrepreneurship, artistry and stories on career change can be valuable and we strive to balance inspiration and food for thought with getting down to The Work.
In addition to your Tribe Leaders, a portion of the core Tribe teaching sessions will be facilitated or delivered by a core group of faculty members we’ve been working with for the past several years. This core group of Tribe teachers include:
Rob Archer is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and management consultant with over 15 years’ consulting experience in both public and private sectors. Rob set up The Career Psychologist in 2008 with the aim of helping those who are stuck in terms of career direction.
Elle Harrison escaped a high-flying corporate career at Unilever and has spent the last 10 years as a leadership coach, helping people through change. Elle is the founder of Wild Courage coaching practice and author of ‘Wild Courage: A Journey of Transformation For You & Your Business‘.
Charly Cox works with entrepreneurs, managers, individuals and companies all over the world, helping them to foster leadership. Charly is the founder of Charly Cox Coaching and is passionate about giving people the skills to lead themselves and to feel that they have choices and are in control of their lives.

William McQuillan is a partner at Frontline Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm that believes in ideas and investing in passion. William escaped a job in investment banking to do work he felt genuinely excited about – and he hasn’t looked back since.

There are two options for paying the Tribe tuition fee:
- You can pay £2,250 upfront.
- Alternatively, you can pay £2,500 in instalments.
Payments are not requested until after you have been through the application process and offered a place.

The Tribe is designed to fit around full-time employment.
You will be required every Tuesday evening from the start of the programme to the end (6:30pm – 9:30pm)
As well as the following five weekends including Saturdays & Sundays (10am – 6pm)

Life on the Tribe
Every session on the Tribe is different, but the ingredients are the same: lots of learning, even more doing; equal parts fun and challenge; and a good balance of helping others and being helped. It’s an environment where friendships thrive as quickly as new businesses and career changes do.
Graduate into The Escape Club
Your journey doesn’t finish after 3 months. It’s only just beginning. After the course you’ll graduate into The Escape Club. A group of 500+ previous Tribers on the same journey as you.
The Escape Club is a private network for all Tribe Alumni at Escape the City. We are full of brave escapees, ambitious career changers, & aspiring entrepreneurs. Building a career on your own terms takes time. This community is here to support you throughout your journey.

Who is the Tribe for?
The Escape Tribe is for people who believe life is too short to do work that doesn’t matter.
But more than this – The Escape Tribe is for doers. Your background, experience, industry, etc doesn’t matter. What matters is that you are up for this.
The Escape Tribe is for people who…
- have a track record of being doers / proactive / achievers in some form.
