Our partner promotes sustainable development in rural communities in Africa to improve livelihoods and help alleviate poverty.   The charity works in areas where HIV is prevalent and where there are high numbers of orphans and vulnerable children. The long term approach involves the commitment and participation of each community, partners and local government to achieve self-sufficiency in food and economic security, rights protection, health, and education.

The organisation has four categories of programme:

  1. Community Livelihoods Initiative (CLI) - Building sustainable nutritional capacity and livelihoods
  2. Child Rights and Welfare (CRW) - Building community ability to protect the health and rights of people living with HIV/AIDS and children affected/infected by HIV/AIDS
  3. Counselling and Wellbeing Services- Providing psychosocial support and essential direct aid
  4. Education and Vocational training – Bursary and Alumni Programme

An experienced accountant is required to volunteer with our partner in Tanzania and Kenya to coach staff and improve financial systems in place, as well as make recommendations for the future. The role will last for 6 weeks and involve travel between Kenya and Tanzania. Flights, accommodation, vaccinations, and internal travel will all be provided, along with minor expenses.

If you are interested in volunteering but find yourself unavailable for this specific role, please do get in touch, as we offer a range of volunteering opportunities that can be customised and tailored to your skills and availability.
