Accounting for International Development is working with a charity which recruits, trains and coaches Cambodian university graduates for 12-18 months. These graduates work in under-served rural communities where they implement projects in education and youth development, health education, rural livelihoods/ income generation, or good governance.
The charities desperately needs a first volunteer accountants to help with a number of areas as they have had a high turnover of staff resulting in accounting being neglected:
- The charity would like support in training and building the confidence of this finance officer
- They would also like support around reviewing and updating their internal policies, and with budget preparation and donor reporting
Accounting for International Development (A f I D) arranges customisable voluntary placements tailor-made to fit your availability, skills and preferences. We are now supporting more than 150 NGOs and charities across 28 countries and we desperately need the assistance of more volunteer accountants to coach and mentor some amazing local people.
Candidates from all age ranges, levels of experience and specialisms are needed
Volunteer assignments between 2 weeks and 12 months in length form part of an on-going strategy to build the financial management capacity and long term sustainability of development organisations across Africa and Asia. These organisations, which include street kid centres, health clinics, international charities, social enterprises and microfinance institutes, are doing amazing work to tackle extreme poverty in their communities but sadly have little or no access to vital accounting skills and services.
