Our partner, based in Somerset, is an International Development charity working in Africa & Asia that promotes equality and helps people with disabilities combat discrimination.

Job Role Our partner needs a volunteer to go in for 1-2 months (part-time or full-time) to assist with writing basic manuals and guidelines for systems in UK and overseas offices.
The role will primarily be to assist with the introduction of a new accounting system, which goes live on 1st January 2014, and to develop necessary documentation, guidelines and manuals.

In addition you may be required to support the day to day running of the new system and train staff on it.

Personal Specification
This role will need an experienced finance person who has high levels of communication skills as you will need to work with colleagues, both in the UK and in the Country Offices. You will also need to be flexible, be able to multi-task and work with self-motivation with a very good eye for detail whilst remaining an integral part of the overall team.  Experience of PS Financials or similar finance systems such as SUN or Microsoft Dynamics would be an advantage, but not essential.  Essential
  • Has a formal accountancy (part) qualification
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office, particularly Excel
  • A good understanding and working knowledge of accounting software
 Desirable:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Experience of working in an overseas office environment
  • Understanding of international development
  • Has been a system administrator for an accounting system
