Our partner provides high quality, low cost business skills training to disadvantaged entrepreneurs in South Africa. Its courses target existing small business owners and equip them with the skills they need to formalize their business processes and create jobs

Our partner has recently completed a research project monitoring the effects of the training on 456 entrepreneurs in Cape Town. The positive impact of their programme thus far has been well documented and generated considerable interest locally; as such, they are looking to expand their courses to Johannesburg and Durban in 2014.

As a young, but growing organisation, it would like the support of a volunteer to:

  • Undertake a complete assessment of the current financial management situation and financial position;
  • Develop the necessary accounting procedures and controls to allow both accurate financial reporting and meaningful financial projections;
  • Provide management with a clear understanding of the human resources necessary for the above and train and mentor an existing member of staff on the necessary procedures

This role will begin in January onwards for 2-3 months. The programme will be based in Cape Town, South Africa.
