Our partner uses the power of soccer to educate, inspire and mobilise communities to stop the spread of HIV. It was established in 2005 with a flagship site in Lusaka which has since expanded to other sites, including Livingstone. Since then our partner has delivered its innovative HIV education interventions to youths between the ages of 12-18 with the help of local peer educators. The curriculum focuses on building basic life skills that help boys and girls adopt healthy behaviours and live risk-free. Over the course of 2013 alone, our partner estimated that it reached 12,710 Zambian youths with its programme.

You would be the first volunteer with them. Your role would be akin to conducting an internal audit - you will need to gain an understanding of the organisation and its structure, assessing its existing financial procedures and controls, and making recommendations/ implementing changes that you deem necessary. Our partner needs assistance with developing an audit-ready filing system, reviewing the petty cash and bank reconciliations process, ensuring internal controls are robust, assessing the usage of Pastel as an appropriate accounting system and also help with year-end accounts using the system.  Budgeting assistance would also be a vital component of the volunteer’s role.

Our partner would be able to offer accommodation in its volunteer house within the office-compound cost-free. They would ideally like someone to start ASAP.
