Our partner works to improve the quality of life of youth and children living with disabilities. It looks to promote social inclusion for these children and their families. In an environment where people with physical or mental disabilities are often isolated and subject to negative stigmas, our partner has created a fully integrated system, not only incorporating children with disabilities in mainstream schools, but also offering legal advice and support around housing and livelihoods. It is slowly changing attitudes towards disability.

You will be the second AfID volunteer on assignment with the organisation. The first volunteer undertook a comprehensive assessment, assisted them to move away from Pastel to a cloud-based accounting system called Twinfield and offered Excel training to a number of staff members.

They would now hugely benefit from a follow-on volunteer to:

  • Assess their progress since the previous volunteer
  • Identify any gaps and improvements to be made in their accounting system
  • Offer all their staff members further training on Excel
  • Assistance in preparing for an annual audit and in the preparation of a financial monitoring document for one of their donors.

This exciting project requires a high-calibre volunteer-accountant in June for 3 Weeks.
