Akosia is seeking THREE high energy, self motivated and dedicated FILMMAKERS to volunteer on a 10 day creative project in Mexico. This short project has two main outcomes - a three day filmmaking project with children and an investigative documentary about a local charity and Mexico's need for our work.

Your role will involve the following: investigating the potential impact of Akosia’s creative children’s projects in Mexico City by exploring the children’s need, the activities of a new local partner called Ednica and the city itself. The ultimate outcome is to make a documentary about this topic.

Your role will be to achieve the following objectives:

1. To understand and define the ‘need’ for Akosia’s work in Mexico City

2. To learn about Ednica and their current activities by visiting all three of their locations within Mexico

3. To run a 3 day film programme for 6 children at the Ajusco centre

4. To investigate where the volunteers of 2014 would live

5. To produce a ten minute documentary about Akosia and Mexico

We are looking for creative, enthusiastic and passionate volunteers to make a documentary about the creative process and to also help the children write, direct, act in and produce their own films and find their voice to tell their stories.

If you are a filmmaker, writer, actor or director and have a passion for working with young people and an interest in documenting the needs of a Mexican charity....THEN, we’d love for you to get involved and join us to make the magic happen.

This project will take place from September 19-29, 2013 and for the duration of the project Akosia will provide your accommodation and two meals per day.
