ARCHIVE UK is looking for a fundraising officer to come on board and support the development and delivery of our fundraising strategy. If you want to gain first rate experience in how a small but ambitious NGO works on the inside and help us build our fundraising strategy, then this could be the ideal position for you.
The position would last 3 to 6 months and hours are flexible but would require at least 21-28 hours a week. Candidates who can demonstrate a commitment to stay the full length of the internship will be given priority. This voluntary position gives the chance to develop transferable skills and to gain invaluable knowledge and a better understanding of how projects are developed and managed within the NGO sector.
Please note that this is an unpaid internship and we only cover travel expenses within London up to £10 p/day. For an exceptional candidate with relevant experience who can take on further responsibilities, there might be a stipend available for this role
The Fundraising Officer will work with the other members of the fundraising team to develop and enhance our strategic fundraising plan.
1) Developing relationships and networks with corporate donors and sponsors.
2) Developing and enhancing day-to-day fundraising activities and assisting with the organization and planning of major fundraising events.
The new fundraising officer would work on our growing awareness campaign, closely working with the student ambassador co-ordinator and the communications and engagement officers. The role is both varied and flexible and we pride ourselves with recruiting excellent candidates that brings something new to the table and are not afraid of exploring new ideas.
Degree in any discipline.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience using social media channels.
Knowledge of Corporate Social Responsibility would be an asset though not required.
Experience organising fundraising or awareness.
Ability to think creatively to develop fundraising strategies with other team members.
Good time management, including ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and cope with a varied and changing workload.
Good IT skills, Microsoft Office etc.
Conscientious and able to work independently.
You will be an enthusiastic and enterprising self-starter, passionate about communications yet keen to get involved with all operational aspects of a small charity.
