Who are we?

Bathtub 2 Boardroom is a registered charity that supports and enables entrepreneurship. We do this by providing early stage entrepreneurs with a great value place to work, a supportive community of like-minded people and access to a valuable range of mentors, talks and industry partners.

We have been based in a gorgeous old church in Bethnal Green in what is arguably London’s coolest shared workspace since June 2012. We are now opening another workspace in the City (near Bank station, EC2R) and we would love you to help set up and run it!

The role

This is an exciting and varied position that is ideal for someone who loves to be at the heart of a community and who has the ability to balance a wide range of tasks. Run by a small management team, we are a young start-up entering a cool new stage of growth and you’ll be able to play a part in creating our future by contribute your ideas.

Having a great deal of close working contact with a variety of exciting start-ups will give you an excellent feel of the joys and challenges that entrepreneurs experience. You’ll also be able to attend all of our events which will again arm you with valuable knowledge of start-ups and will connect you with some amazing people.

This role will also give you great experience within office management and events while working alongside some really lovely, fun and supportive people.

The main areas of responsibility for this position are:

Office management

Working closely with our Marketing and Events Manager and our CEO, you will be responsible for the site and will need to ensure that the physical space is an inspiring, practical and safe place to work. This involves everything from changing light bulbs, issuing keys, receiving visitors and deliveries, and making sure things are clean and tidy, so we’d love it if you are practical person who doesn’t mind getting stuck in. Don’t worry, you’ll have a lovely cleaner to help you as well as a great handyman and electrician for the things you can’t do.

Community Management

Another key part of your role is ensuring that our members are happy, partly through great site management but also by being the social catalyst and facilitating fun things like community lunches and our monthly movie club. We would also love it if you worked together with our Marketing Manager to share the cool things happening in ‘The Tub’ using our social media accounts.

Populating desk space

While we have a Marketing Manager to generate interest from potential new members, you’ll play an important part in showing them the space and explaining what we do.

When they join you’ll give them a nice welcome, issue contracts and keys, explain the practical side of things and help them settle into their new workspace.

Simple Book Keeping

Invoicing our clients and ensuring that their fees are paid on time.


We would love it if you are:

  • Really well organised – there are a lot of start-ups who’ll rely on you to provide them with a safe, fun and supportive work environment, and together with our Marketing Manager, you’ll have the responsibility of ensuring revenue targets for this site are met
  • Confident and brilliant with people from lots of different backgrounds
  • Great communicator - you’ll have a lot of face-to-face and written contact with people, so we’d love you to be clear in your communications and echo the Bathtub personality
  • Pro-active, practical and not afraid to get your hands dirty
  • Very friendly and sociable yet assertive as sometimes you’ll need to chase payments and give people a nudge to clean up after themselves
  • Comfortable with a soft selling role when you show people around the space and follow up on shown interest to ensure our desk occupancy targets are met
  • Enthusiastic about Bathtub 2 Boardroom and entrepreneurism with a passion for bringing people together by arranging community events
  • Able to cope well under pressure

 

Requirements

  • Educated to degree level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A good degree of numeracy 
  • Flexibility to work a few evenings a month 
  • Able to start w/c 27th Jan 2014
