We’re looking for a driven, self-starting individual who is social at their core. This person will be charged with nurturing the community; engaging day-to-day with its members; and managing the communications and content that will benefit those that are part of it.

The successful candidate will be part of a small dynamic entrepreneurial team based near London Waterloo. They will have a real pride over their work, not be scared to get stuck in, and love learning from those around them.

What will our Community Manager be up to?

The Community Manager is the voice of our brand and looks after communications both within the community and from it – so that members interact effectively and more members join to interact. This will include:

Communicating with members

o   Connecting and engaging with members on our platform and on social media channels to drive community interaction;

o   Responding to members on email, social media and on the phone (customer relations) and contributing and responding to discussion threads from members asking for help or comment;

o   Planning and managing our communication with members through email mailers;

o   Helping members to connect and collaborate on their marketing.

Being useful to members

o   Creating and managing an editorial schedule of useful content for the community Resource Hub;

o   Finding and recruiting worthy contributors to supply articles for the Resource Hub;

o   Creating content (articles, interviews, videos) for community members;

o   Sharing this content via social media channels and within the community;

o   Using data from Google Analytics, the platform and social media to identify areas of opportunity and issue with our community platform and finding out ways to improve it.

Growing the community membership

o   Seeking out suitable brands and businesses and set up partnerships or media exchanges that will help grow community membership;

o   Utilising all marketing channels available to promote the community and maximise the impact of any partnerships, campaigns or events;

o   Attending events and networking as a brand advocate and recruiting members, advertisers and partners for Brand Gathering;

 o   Participating in and creating events to drive membership and for members to network, and liaising on media requests and building relationships with industry journalists to help drive awareness through PR. 

Who are we looking for?

Someone that has;

  • A strong degree from a reputable institution (ideally in business, journalism, communications, English or similar);
  • Digital-native approach to MS Office, Web Analytics, social media, mailchimp, blog CMS and has some skills with image editing software;
  • Experience working with online communities and managing social channels;
  • Experience in editorial planning or content creation;
  • Some PR or events experience would be an asset; 
  • An interest or knowledge of marketing and a thirst for working in an entrepreneurial business world and helping those in it.

Someone with;

  • Impressive creative copy writing skills that can flex tone of voice;
  • Sound analytical reporting skills and a hunger to find the insight;
  • Impeccable communication skills – written and spoken, with a confidence over the phone to build relationships;

o   A positive, can-do attitude with a desire to learn quickly ;

o   Great attention to detail, with both written work and when taking instructions;

o   Great organisational skills to deliver work to deadlines with a minimum of supervision and who is willing to “go the extra mile” when needed;

o   Strong interpersonal skills so you can form strong relationships quickly and communicate clearly;

o   A pride in their appearance and who comes across as professional to customers and colleagues;

o   The ability to take the initiative but also not be afraid to ask for help when required.
