Brixton People's Kitchen

The Brixton People’s Kitchen turns food surplus from local businesses into free and healthy meals for local people. We are now designing and building a Mobile Kitchen that will travel throughout the diverse communities of Brixton and beyond, to inspire positive action against food waste by acting as an open, convivial platform for food education, community building and skills-sharing.

We have grown a lot since starting a year and a bit ago and have recently won a large amount of funding. With our increasingly regular supper clubs and the weekly donations we receive from the kitchens we host, we are having to think more about how to effectively manage the money coming in. Unfortunately, no one in our project has a head for accounting and therefore we need you! You would ideally give a few hours a month to advising us on how best to use our budget and manage our in-comings and out-goings.
We're a great and energetic team of people, open to learning new skills. So it would be great if you could teach us a thing or two!
