The Cafédirect Producers’ Foundation (CPF) is a young, ambitious charity. We were set up by social enterprise Cafédirect plc and work with 280,000 farmers worldwide to develop innovative solutions to the daily challenges they face. For example, projects like the recently award winning WeFarm.  In our programmes across Africa and Latin America, we aim to be innovative, entrepreneurial and participatory in everything we do. This includes our fundraising.

This newly created role is an opportunity for a dynamic, entrepreneurial individual with a proven background in fundraising (or new business development) to take the lead in delivering CPF’s 3-year fundraising strategy, with a particular emphasis on growing our unrestricted funding base.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Excited and motivated by the challenge of thinking creatively to deliver ambitious six-figure income targets.
  • Ready to challenge traditional charity messaging and donor engagement methods.
  • Experienced, with a proven track record in raising unrestricted funding and/or generating income through enterprise.
  • Tenacious and entrepreneurial, with a can-do approach and committed to going above and beyond the role’s on-paper remit to ensure success.
  • Well-connected with international philanthropy networks with a potential interest in CPF.
  • Comfortable working hard in a start-up environment.
  • A clear, clever and engaging communicator.
  • Passionate about CPF’s model and approach.
  • Willing to try things, fail fast and learn.

Specific tasks will include:

  • Strategic development and delivery of CPF’s 3-year Fundraising Strategy and Income Targets.
  • Taking responsibility for raising significant (6 figure) donations from philanthropic individuals, demonstrating a proactive and target driven approach to securing new funds.
  • Creatively developing and delivering donor-friendly communication tools and messages that capture the ambitions and complexities of CPF’s model, and ensures that CPF stands out from the crowd.
  • Identifying and engaging people and networks to raise unrestricted funds in new and creative ways.
  • Managing CPF’s small, but ambitious, fundraising team.
  • Managing, and growing CPF’s fundraising budget to ensure continual re-investment in trialing new, innovative fundraising ideas.

What we can offer:
  • Salary range: £GBP 34,500 - £GBP 37,500 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus additional benefits package including 9% employer pension contribution.
  • The opportunity to play a lead role and make a significant impact in a small but ambitious organisation.
  •  Flexibility on part-time working options for the right candidate.
  • As much tea and/or coffee as you can drink!

Please note that the successful candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
