To Start September 2013 

CfBT is recruiting up to four Trainee Education Consultants to join a two year education consultancy training programme, covering business development, consultancy and project management. It involves the opportunity to work in the UK and internationally to gain valuable skills and a broad knowledge of international education systems and contexts.

CfBT has extensive experience in supporting education across a range of contexts and we have a strong presence in the UK, Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, and sub-Saharan Africa. This programme is an unusual opportunity for participants to gain an insight into education systems and contexts across the world.

The programme will involve working for an international education organisation both in the UK and abroad to develop in depth consulting and project and programme management skills in a range of educational contexts. The role will involve four six-month placements across CfBT's UK and international offices.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new and challenging programme in a remarkable organisation. The role presents the opportunity for rich professional learning and career development. There will be opportunities for travel and engagement with high profile and interesting global clients.

Trainee Education Consultants will have the opportunity to:

  • Participate in an intensive four week training programme and receive structured training support throughout the two years
  • Work on the design of solutions for specific major education bids, including project and programme design, and the development of financial and operating models for complex educational interventions.
  • Engage in the conduct of strategic market analysis reviews, including the assessment of the priorities of current and prospective clients and the performance and aspirations of major competitors.
  • Plan and project manage the implementation of projects and the transitional phases of high profile education projects in the UK and internationally.

Although the programme is only for two years we anticipate that there will be job opportunities within the organisation on completion of the training.  

Skills required for the role:

  • Trainee Education Consultants will be required to have the following skills:
  • Experience of the education sector (a minimum of 18 months)
  • Proven track record of delivery
  • First or upper-second class degree
  • Ability to analyse complex sources of evidence
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Good IT skills and highly effective in the use of Powerpoint, Excel and project management software
  • Good presentation and client engagement skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently
    Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Commercial and business awareness
