Are you seeking a new challenge? Have you had enough of being a small cog in a big machine? Do you want to help improve the built environment?

Why not join CIRIA, the not-for-profit construction industry research and information association. Our long standing expertise in research management and the production of industry guidance has resulted in a reputation for high quality, authoritative and widely used reports. Learn more about us at

We're seeking a Project Manager who can identify topics, raise sponsorship and deliver research projects involving a number of stakeholders. The role has a Civil Engineering focus and the topics you'll be working on will be both relevant, interesting and varied.

You might be a highly driven second / third jobber, or an experienced industry professional with a solid understanding of the built environment and an array of industry contacts. Either way you'll need to be a true self starter with bags of enthusiasm. We're looking for people that are happy to fly solo and initiate, but who are also happy working in a team or with a range of stakeholders when required.

A self confident and well organised project manager with excellent written and verbal skills, you will be comfortable with the digital world and as fluent with social media as you are with communicating across a range of stakeholders at all levels of seniority.

Other key requirements are a Civil Engineering degree, project experience in Civils / Infrastructure, team leadership or project co-ordination experience and technical report writing experience (excluding undergraduate assignments).

Why work at CIRIA?

Smaller is beautiful - We have significant industry reach and impact but we are small enough to care. Join our friendly team and avoid becoming that anonymous cog in a machine.

Reap the rewards - In addition to competitive pay, you'll receive pension contributions, healthcare support and a generous holiday allowance. Moreover, you'll enjoy a friendly working environment, a range of social activities and an excellent Christmas party.

Speak and be heard - We are a not for profit organisation where mutual respect and collaboration is encouraged. We want all staff to be involved in helping CIRIA to succeed in its mission.

Opportunities to grow - Our employees are encouraged to take responsibility for their own work and outcomes but we’ll help you gain the skills you need to perform.
