Whilst the concept of social investment is spreading rapidly, it remains a relatively small sector despite the increasing level of rhetoric and hype amongst the media and government.

Although ClearlySo is well recognised as a leader within the social sector, there remains an untapped opportunity to raise the company's profile within the wider ‘mainstream’ economy; particularly within the world of finance and investment.

ClearlySo is therefor seeking to recruit an individual to raise the company's profile (and social investment in general) so that not only are financial institutions aware of social investment, but that ClearlySo is their first port of call as they increasingly become active players in this sector.

Activities and tasks

  • Responsible for planning, development, implementation and measurement of all the organisation’s marketing strategies, marketing communications and public relations activities
  • Build and maintain relationships with numerous editorial, publication and media organisations; both within the social enterprise arena and in the wider market
  • Be the primary copy writer at the company, working with various internal stakeholders to create and distribute external facing marketing materials to our target audiences
  • Effectively disseminate any news or announcements to our partners and relevant commentators
  • Track the successes or failures of all marketing campaigns
  • Come up with creative new ways of raising the organisation’s profile and outreach to new and existing customers
  • Organise and promote company events
  • Conduct relevant market research and report on any trends within our target audiences
  • Secure high-profile speaking slots for our staff and leading international conferences and within the corporate sector

Skills and experience

  • Should have at least two years experience working in marketing or PR, or a similar role
  • Proven track record supporting small but emerging businesses to raise their profile
  • Professional level of written English (please submit examples of written work)
  • Familiarity with email marketing systems, for example Campaign Monitor, or Constant Contact
  • Familiarity with Google Adwords and Google Analytics
  • Existing relationships with key primary contacts at publication and media organisations
  • Ability to comfortably fit in and work with a small team of individuals
  • Event organisation


  • Ability to hand-code HTML / CSS to web and email standards
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM database
  • Specific knowledge of event marketing and management
  • An understanding of - and passion for - social enterprise and using innovation to tackle the world’s problems
