Job Title:

Education Programme Manager for creeswww.crees-manu.org

The crees foundation has been training volunteers in conservation research and sustainable community initiatives in the Peruvian Amazon for over 8 years. Our education programme actively trains and educates up to 18 volunteers each month to become knowledgeable, engaged and positive agents for change.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Programme Manager, to manage and strategically develop our programmes in the Amazon. This role is based in Cusco, with regular sites visits to our projects in Manu, Peru.

 

Primary Role:

The Education Programme Manager is responsible for managing our volunteer programmes at a strategic level. The role manages two Education Instructors in Peru, and a Sales and Marketing Coordinator based in the UK, and is responsible for creating and implementing our five year strategy for the programme; managing the entire volunteer experience from initial enquiry to post-programme alumni, ensuring that we meet and improve our ideal volunteer experience.

This role requires a self-starter capable of adaptive thinking who has excellent strategic planning and is highly organised. The role may be required to deal with complex situations in remote environments and therefore will need to work well under pressure, have superb leadership and people management skills and be a fluid communicator who can engage people.

 

The role is across 3 core areas:

Programme Management (Delivery): (managing two Education Instructors and reporting to the General Manager in Peru)

The role is responsible for overseeing the delivery of our ideal volunteer experience, from initial enquiry to post-programme feedback. You will manage up to 4 field staff members who are responsible for up to 34 individuals and their safety.  You will work closely with the Education Programme staff to make sure that all operational elements run smoothly, and that our programmes offer volunteers the best experience possible and meet each of our learning objectives.

Programme Management (Sales & Marketing): (managing the UK Sales & Marketing Coordinator)

You will be responsible for creating and overseeing our sales and marketing strategy in the UK, alongside our Sales & Marketing Coordinator. This will involve weekly meetings with the London office, and monthly reporting.

Programme Development: (in coordination with the General Manager in Peru)

You will be responsible for creating and improving the ideal volunteer experience, identifying innovative ways to educate young people about the Amazon. Each of our programmes has multilevel learning objectives which you will continue to develop as our programme grows; this will include the implementation of monitoring and evaluation processes to measure our success. You will be working closely with our Sales & Marketing Coordinator and Education Instructors to identify potential avenues for programme development and new project sites and products that you will see through from conception to end.

Job Specification:

Minimum Requirements:

·         Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant work experience

·         Minimum of 2 years Programme Management experience

·         Minimum 2 years managerial experience

·         Strategic experience

·         Sales and Marketing experience

·         Intermediate Spanish (good written and verbal skills)

·         Excellent communication skills

·         Leadership skills

·         Dynamic, good humoured and positive personality

 

Contract Duration:

2 years (subject to 3 month probation).

 

 

Benefits Package:

·         $12k - $15k USD per annum depending on experience[1]

·         International travel to and from the project (once per annum) is included

·         28 days holiday allowance
