crees stands for conservation research and environmental education towards sustainability. We imagine a world that values biological and cultural diversity, and understands the vital role that the Amazon rainforest plays in the life support system of our planet. Through the creation of unforgettable experiences, crees is able to fund conservation research, sustainable livelihood initiatives and local education schemes. These programmes undertake scientific research to ensure the long term protection of the Peruvian Amazon and empower local communities to lead sustainable and authentic lives.

Why are we exciting?

Our project site is nestled deep in the heart of the Amazon Jungle, in one of the most bio-diverse regions on the planet. No two days are the same, and you could find yourself face to face with a jaguar, climbing a 500 year old tree, camping out in the elements, or planting trees with local community members.

crees works at the cutting edge of Amazon research and sustainable initiatives and as such its our job to turn you into an environmental leader of the future.

What can we offer Escapees?

crees offers you the opportunity to learn hands on skills at a working conservation research and sustainability centre. You can volunteer from 2 - 12 weeks, which allows you to take part in all of our projects, whether that be building community food gardens; planting trees; studying the birds, mammals, frog and reptiles of the Amazon; measuring carbon capture and much more!

If you would like to apply for an internship placement we offer you all this, plus an internationally recognised BTEC qualification, weekly mentoring sessions, and the opportunity to create and run your own projects.

As a small grassroots organisation we offer you the chance to get involved with something truly unique, learn new skills and create meaning.

Our values

crees is non-profit and as such our values inform everything we do; from planting trees to offsetting our volunteer’s air travel to offering free educational opportunities to local communities.  By holding ourselves to these 4 ideals we believe that anything is possible!

  1. We each have the capacity to take responsibility for our actions and work with nature to inspire long-term ecological sustainability.
  2. Inclusivity is vital in solving the environmental challenges we face, and as such we engage with local communities, international universities, governments, and volunteers from all over the world.
  3. We empower people to take positive actions towards addressing the environmental issues we face. The most valuable resource we have is ourselves and the most powerful catalyst for change; each other.
  4. Passion is crucial in inspiring action to make a lasting positive impact.
