We're looking for someone to join our innovative new mini-bond team that helps more established brands like John Lewis, Hotel Chocolat, Nuffield Health, and more recently Chilango and River Cottage (on Crowdcube), to borrow expansion capital from their customers, stakeholders and our growing investor community.

We require an Investment Manager to play a key role in this growing team that is determined to be a market leader in this billion pound industry. 

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The core part of the Bonds Investment Manager role is to assess the credit quality and marketability of potential new bond issuers, manage the client relationship and manage the transaction through the internal review, analysis and approval processes, producing financial models and sensitivity analyses, analysing various capital structures, assessing debt capability of new issuers, modelling financial covenants, if appropriate, and preparing on a timely basis all of the internal reports and external promotional materials, as well as managing the transaction and all of the various internal and or external service providers for each project.
  • Synthesis and interpretation of complex data, including due diligence materials to present a complete picture of an business or a sector;
  • Provide a point of contact for the clients, through day to day management of transactions;
  • Evaluate and manage work passing to senior members of the team i.e. acting as a control point from junior to senior team members;
  • Start to build own network of possible client contacts e.g. bankers, lawyers, accountants, consultants and clients such as junior/middle ranking staff at SMEs and or private equity firms.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ideally ACA or CFA qualified;
  • Strong credit skills, corporate or commercial finance or investment banking experience, ideally with UK SMEs transaction experience;
  • Strong academic record (at least 2:1 degree or equivalent), ACT, MBA etc; and
  • Strong commercial acumen and business awareness.

  • Excellent analysis, communication and presentational skills;
  • Determined, hard working, enthusiastic and enjoys working in small team;
  • Responsive and responsible;
  • Committed to the firm, with a ‘can-do’ attitude;
  • Strong people and team skills.
