Summer Volunteer Opportunities

Dorje Denma Ling welcomes and values all volunteers, whether you stay for one month, one week or just a few days. Benefits include room and board plus $100 program credit for each full month you are here. This summer, volunteers committing to one month or more will also receive a stipend of $100/mo to cover living expenses. Volunteers have two days off per week, and in addition to the joy of benefiting others with your work, you are also able to join in the daily community meditation practice sessions and other group opportunities for practice and study.

The following departments are seeking volunteer assistance:

Sustainable Development

Help contribute to building Atlantic Canada’s first hemp-lime masonry home, also combining passive solar, Forest Stewartship Council (FSC) certified timber, recycled materials, and renewable energy. Other exciting projects in store for the summer of 2013, include a new shower house, a root cellar, and forest trail building. Volunteering in the Development department includes participation in Building with Hemp, a hands-on workshop with hemp-building pioneer, consultant and author, Steve Allin.

Dorje Denma Ling welcomes facilities volunteers to help with building projects, repairs and outdoor projects.

If you love cooking or helping in the kitchen, we welcome you to apply as a kitchen volunteer. Come and help prepare healthy and delicious meals for our core community and program participants.

Help to keep Denma Ling sparkling and uplifted. We always need help with routine cleaning, preparation of participant accommodations and deep cleaning to magnetize the dralas.
