Experience Himalayan Nepal was set up by two friends to help people in Nepal by developing projects that work with the poorer members of the communities. Since starting in Sept 2010 we have helped save one orphanage, built a medical centre for 9000 people, new classrooms in a school and started a safe drinking project in the slums of Kathmandu.

Help create a New English Syllabus in Nepal

ABOUT
EHN are looking for retired or English teachers with some spare time to help create a simple English syllabus based on the Nepali one they use in school which is about 40 years old. One of the biggest problems for Nepali children is the fact they need an English qualification to enter college. There are many reasons why they fail from poor teaching equipment and teachers, lack of help and an education system that follows the parrot fashion.
If we can adapt this and then provide volunteers we hope to be able to help the kids achieve college  because the volunteers can teach in a Western way the information they require.
There are 10 years of teaching there and I am trying to get the books sent back here to the UK so its a project you can do at home. And if you want to visit and see it in action then you will be most welcome.
