Finance in Motion is an alternative asset management firm exclusively focused on sustainable development finance. On behalf of public and private investors as well as international financial institutions, we develop and advise alternative investment vehicles.

The company covers a broad spectrum of development finance, including energy efficiency, renewable energy, microfinance, and the facilitation of employment generation through the financing of small and medium enterprises.

The Funds advised by Finance in Motion provide dedicated funding to eligible banks and financial institutions to be further on lent to end borrowers or finance projects directly in the area of renewable energy. We manage Funds with total capital of approx. EUR 1.1 billion in almost 30 countries in Southeast Europe, Eastern Europe and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), handling relationships with clients in the financial and corporate sector, including debt, equity and Technical Assistance (TA) projects. Our international team of more than 100 employees is located in Frankfurt am Main and several regional offices in South East and Eastern Europe and the MENA region.

Finance in Motion is currently setting up a new investment fund seeking to invest equity in companies involved in technologies around drinking water, water treatment, irrigation, sanitation etc. We are therefore looking to strengthen our investment team with one senior and one junior venture capital expert.  

The candidates will be based at our head office in Frankfurt am Main, work in a young, international team (+30 nationalities) whose working language is English, and assume the following duties and responsibilities:  
  • Supporting/Leading the financial analysis of new potential investments and being a key member of the overall due diligence team;
  • Preparing or analysing detailed financial models for the creation and implementation of strong development and value creation strategies;
  • Supporting/Leading the structuring, negotiation and legal documentation of investments;
For the senior expert:

  • Responsibility for full investment cycle including identification of investees and negotiation of exit of investees
  • Responsibility for strategy development and meeting business plan targets;
  • Building and managing relationships with key executives at diverse partners including investees and investors, travelling is therefore an integral part of the position.
Qualifications / Skills:

  • University degree, preferably in economics, finance, business administration, engineering or similar;
  • Expertise in financial and strategic analysis of young/growing companies;
  • Experience in executing transactions on buy or sale side;
  • Relevant work experience for the target position;
  • Strong interest in generating positive impact in the developing world;
  • Strong written and spoken English skills, other languages being an added advantage;
  • Sound analytical skills and the ability to approach issues and solve problems in a practical manner;
  • Strong communication and intercultural skills as well as being a strong team player.
