Football Action is a dynamic and dedicated charity working to inspire children and encourage education through the world’s most popular game. We believe that football has the power to develop essential life skills in young people, promote well-being and happiness and create a dialogue for respect and equality.
We are looking for an enthusiastic part-time Project Coordinator to join our small and hard-working team of trustees on a voluntary basis. This is a new post within our organisation, which comes at an exciting time in the growth of Football Action. For the first since the charity begun in 2009, we have three successful international projects running and a fourth, in Bolivia, in the initial development stage. Until now our trustees have built the charity in their free time, alongside their permanent jobs, but to enable our programme to progress further we need the help of dedicated and passionate volunteers.
What will my role be?
As Project Coordinator, your main responsibility will be to oversee the continuation of our Ethiopia and Honduras projects and help to organise our annual summer camps. You will be working in a variety of areas including external communications with our overseas partners, monitoring the progress of coaches and facilities and ensuring our supporters in the UK are kept up to date with our latest news. You will also play a key role in sustaining a dynamic online presence, through the regular updating of our social media profiles and writing a monthly newsletter to our followers.
This is an opportunity for you to make a real and significant difference to Football Action. As a member of an experienced team, you will gain valuable understanding of international development and develop professional skills to boost your CV. We’re always on the look-out for new and exciting ideas – whether it be marketing initiatives, fundraising events or even project start-ups – and this is a fantastic chance for you to demonstrate your creativity. Lastly, should you wish, this placement offers the unique opportunity of travelling to the beautiful countries of Ethiopia and Honduras to experience Football Action, in action!
Applicants must be London-based and available to work from home 1
day per week for a minimum time period of 3 months. If you are
interested in joining us and would like to know more, you can visit our
