Marketing Team Leader (Multi-Channel)

First, a bit of background...

This role is at the very heart of our company — we've earned the trust of over 200,000 customers so far, and now we'd like to meet 800,000 of their friends. That's where you come in.

You won't be alone, and you won't be building from scratch — you'll be leading our marketing team as we deliver new projects that help articulate the soul of the sugru brand, and make meaningful connections with new customers from all walks of life.

So how will you know that you're perfect for this job? Good question.

* You play nicely with others. People like you, trust you, and you can get the most out of our in-house team, as well as our external advisors and partners. 

* You'll love leading our team to create consistently excellent work across lots of different channels and spaces: our website, customer support, PR, social & digital marketing and design for print.

* You'll be a badass project manager — able to keep the team focused, energised and aligned to our goals while keeping track of lots of projects. You'll make sure that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Your default configuration for ducks will be "in a row".

* You'll bring structure and process-driven commercial thinking to our highly creative team, in a way that values and honours their contribution.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the CEO, you'll translate our marketing strategy into a global activity plan, as well as quarterly and annual plans.
  • You'll lead the team to deliver these plans through lots of different channels, e.g. website, E-commerce, digital & social marketing, PR including press office and publicity campaigns, retail activation and merchandising, internal communications, that kind of thing.
  • Keep the team aligned to our strategic goals
  • Keep the team energised to innovate and create opportunities for the company and brand
  • Manage the marketing & communications budget
  • Own and manage key processes and tools to ensure effective and efficient delivery of all marketing activities. Review and improve processes on a regular basis.
  • Champion and foster collaboration through your management of the team internally, and any agencies as required
  • Lead key meetings - most critically regular planning and management meetings with the marketing team internally and any external agencies, recording actions agreed and follow up to ensure completion
  • Own the overall delivery timeline of all marketing projects and campaigns identifying and escalating issues in time for appropriate action to be taken.
  • Set key goals and objectives, agreeing them with the Board, then delivering them.
  • You will be asked to comment on, challenge and refine the Board’s integrated marketing strategy, and then translate it into a yearly and quarterly plan.
  • Campaign evaluation set up and on-going delivery and the team in pulling together the final campaign evaluation, feeding this into future strategy and planning
  • Build a team including recruitment and appointing and managing agencies and other partners

Must Have:

  • Measurable experience managing the marketing of a consumer brand, ideally globally or in the US.
  • Proactive, with a strong focus on delivering end results.
  • People and project management experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Evidence of a full understanding of marketing and communications including digital and social
  • Super organised, able to prioritise and work with multiple projects at the same time
  • Great people skills - relationship building, team working, influencing skills
  • Evidence of being an excellent communicator - presentation, written and verbal
  • Consistently positive, can-do attitude - sees the bigger picture and gets on with things with minimal supervision
  • Tenacity not to take no for an answer with flexibility to adapt within a constantly moving market
  • Measurable experience leading a team in successful projects

Reports: 

If we turn out to be a good fit, you will be reporting to the CEO and General Manager.
