ABOUT
I'm looking for a business partner for a new peer to peer courier service. Freighthopper is an online marketplace that enables users to ship items cheaply and earn money for shipping others’ items. It’s a unique and novel service, most adequately described perhaps as an ebay for post.

Freighthopper is still in the planning stages and is now at a point where I need a partner. I hope that this will:

a) provide a different perspective on the best way of doing things
b) help by taking on some of the workload
c) bring technical and development expertise to the business
d) inject more momentum to the business

There is a significant technical element to the business and the position is for someone with a technical background. The initial phase will involve launch of a mobile site so someone who has experience with both front end and back end technologies would be well suited. It's really up to the right person to define the requirements, but I anticipate that the build will require skills in HTML, JavaScript and CSS, as well as database and server side development. Knowledge of social networks and mobile will be advantageous too. I hope that the right person will lead the technical side of the business.

I'm looking to share equity in the business so there's a significant opportunity for the right person.

I've been working on the business for around 6 months and I'm now looking to launch something in the next 4 months. A lot of the business planning, wireframes and marketing plans have been drawn up already, and I'm in the process of hiring a designer. It will be a small but collaborative team.

This business is a significant undertaking and I expect the technical partner to be able to commit at least 10-15 hours per week to the project. More so, as the launch deadline approaches.

Above everything else, I want the business to be a success so I'm open to all types and experience. My background is in digital marketing, project management and account service, so I'm really looking for someone who can complement my skills. The most important attributes for a partner are enthusiasm for the business, an eye for quality and a commitment of time. I am also looking for someone who can bring value to other areas and who's keen to help define the business.

I have another successful business of my own, founded in 2009, building iPhone apps so I have a proven track record in this space. Taking learnings from this experience, I hope to be in a good position to launch a new and innovative product in a new market.

I'm open to working remotely with the right person. I am based in Melbourne, and the business will target Australia to begin with. However, you could say I'm agnostic to location so wherever you are, this needn't be a problem.

If you think this sounds interesting, please get in touch.
