Essentials of Simplicity in Design
Harry Mylonadis, Co-founder and Brand Builder, minimoko
Monday, March 25th from 7 pm - 8:30 pm.
It is innovation's biggest paradox: We demand more and more from the stuff in our lives—more features, more function, more power—and yet we also increasingly demand that it be easy to use. And, in a frustrating twist, the technology that's simplest to use is also, often, the most difficult to create.
If you have started a business or work at a startup you've probably heard about the value of simplicity in design. Mastering the core principles of simplicity can help you design better communications, interfaces and experiences. By mastering some of the essential simplicity principles you will help your product stand out, communicate clearly and create better interactions with your audience.
This class will start with an introduction to simplicity and its essential part in design. We will move through the principles of design simplicity to give you a starting toolkit that you can apply to your services, communications and products as soon as you leave the class.
Prerequisites: No prerequisites are required to attend this class, but a passion for good design is always welcome
Preparation: Students should come prepared to get their hands dirty as this will be an interactive class with exercises and group discussion.
Instructor: Harry Mylonadis is a brand builder, thinker, writer, tech geek and most of all passionate about simplicity. In 2009 he co-founded minimoko to eradicate complexity from brand communications. In 2012 he launched CPU Wars to make tech geeks happy.
