Introduction to iOS Development

A briskly paced course designed to teach you the essentials of programming for iOS devices, covering basic architecture of an iPhone or iPad app and the essential Apple API used. You don't need to be a code guru to learn iOS, but you should have some programming experience in a C-based language such as C, C++, Java, PHP, ActionScript 3, etc. Object oriented programming experience will be helpful.
This class will teach you what you need to know about the Interface Builder (now part of Xcode) and iOS Simulator used for testing. You'll also learn programming patterns in Objective-C as well as the essential principles you'll need to write robust iOS code.
NOTE TO REGISTRANTS:
Participants need to bring a laptop with Xcode 4 already installed.
◦ In order to download Xcode, participants should be enrolled into Apple's iOS Developer Programme. Registration is free: https://developer.apple.com/programs/register/
◦ Once you've registered: If your laptop runs OS X Lion or higher, you can download Xcode from the Mac App Store (recommended). If you run previous versions of OS X, you will have to download it fromhttps://developer.apple.com/downloads/
