Giveacar is an exciting venture that has successfully introduced the idea of charitable car donation to the UK.

Our aim is to raise money for good causes by collecting old, unwanted cars, scrapping or selling them at auction, and giving the proceeds to the charity of the owner's choice.

We are now looking for a new manager to take control and drive the business forward.

£1 million raised for 700 charities

Launched three years ago, Giveacar is not a start-up but a proven business model.  We are self-sufficient with no external funding.  We now operate nationwide, handle over 50 cars a week and we have just reached our first milestone, raising £1 million for more than 700 charities.

Giveacar has a very dynamic marketing and PR programme and has generated coverage in the BBC, all the major national press and local media throughout the UK.  The company has either won or reached the shortlist for a number of awards including the Observer Ethical Award, the BBC World Challenge Award, London Business Award, Finance for the Future Award, Sustainable City Award and Third Sector Excellence Award. Now five strong and based in Fulham, London, Giveacar was founded by a recent graduate and a large part of the company’s success is down to the policy of employing capable, imaginative graduates.   Age is irrelevant but you will have an excellent academic record, at least two years’ post-grad experience (possibly many more) and strong management skills.  Our core business is charitable donations which have to be accurately processed, so you must be quite comfortable with figures and spreadsheets.  You will also be literate: we write articles, web content, blogs and press releases on a regular basis.  You will probably have marketing experience and of course you will also be resourceful and imaginative.  Above all you will have an entrepreneurial spark and love the idea of helping a social business to grow and deliver much-needed financial help to hard-pressed charities.  Any experience of running a website would be a bonus, as would technical skills such as search engine optimisation, but this is not essential.
We believe that this is a rare opportunity to join a young company which already has a high profile.  You will have the support of the company’s directors but you will be expected to take hands-on responsibility across a wide range of business disciplines, from marketing and sales to negotiation with suppliers, website management, PR and financial control.  You will deal with two interesting sectors that are not often brought together – the charity sector and the scrap metal industry. Giveacar is not an ordinary opportunity and it won’t appeal to ordinary people.  If you’re looking for something special, a real challenge and the chance to make a difference, contact us.
