Due to exciting year-on-year growth and challenging projections for 2014, we would like to recruit a new colleague to lead and deliver projects for our clients.

About GoodCorporation:

Founded in 2000, GoodCorporation is recognised worldwide as one of the leading organisations working globally in the field of corporate responsibility and business ethics. We conduct independent and confidential assessments of ethical management practices, and support our clients with advice, training and resourcing.

We have completed over 400 assessments in 60 countries, for more than 100 clients, ranging from FTSE100 and CAC40 clients to smaller, privately run businesses. Working with GoodCorporation helps organisations reduce risk, manage reputation and embed good practice.

About The Role:

This is a great opportunity for an experienced professional to lead a team doing challenging work that has a genuine positive impact.

The primary responsibility is to undertake assessments based around GoodCorporation’s assessment frameworks using our established methodology. Our frameworks include The GoodCorporation Standard, The GoodCorporation Framework on Bribery and Corruption, The GoodCorporation Framework on Human Rights and The GoodCorporation Project Assessment Framework.

Candidates must have experience of project management: agreeing the scope of work, establishing objectives, designing timetables, checking all necessary logistics are in place - liaising internally and with the client, completing the task and presenting findings.

GoodCorporation’s assessments involve face-to-face and telephone interviews with a cross-section of stakeholders across a variety of organisations. Candidates must be able to conduct interviews at all levels from the shop floor to the C-suite. Experience and knowledge of key business functions is essential. Documentation and records are also analysed to provide further evidence. Candidates must be able to assess all the information provided, evaluate the key points and, based on the information obtained, make recommendations and allocate grades against the assessment framework.

A summary of key findings followed by detailed reports must also be prepared and presented to the senior management team. The ability to prepare a detailed action plan and provide some level of consultancy is also required for some clients.

GoodCorporation assessments are usually conducted by a team of two assessors, often supported by a local consultant to assist with language or cultural issues. Applicants must have experience of running and managing small ‘virtual’ teams. Experience of working outside the UK, particularly in emerging markets, is also important. Knowledge of industry sectors where ethical issues are at the fore, such as defence, extractives or construction is also desirable. Knowledge of a functional area such as risk, compliance, anti- corruption or internal audit would also be an advantage.

About The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have at least ten years’ relevant experience, possibly gained in a management consultancy or audit environment.

Personal skills

Leadership and team-building skills are essential. Applicants must also have good people skills, with the ability to build relationships quickly, demonstrate empathy and inspire confidence. Self-motivation and enthusiasm are key, combined with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Good communication, organisational and IT skills are essential. Candidates must be able to write well and present confidently. They must also be willing to travel regularly for up to 2-3 weeks at a time and the ability to speak at least one foreign language is desirable. It is likely that the successful candidate will have at least a strong first degree.

What else are we looking for?

GoodCorporation is a small and vibrant company, attracting people with strong ethical values wanting to make a difference to the way business is run globally. We are looking for candidates who share our ethical values and have the ability to stand up for principles, even in difficult situations.

Role Details:

Based at: GoodCorporation’s London office in Putney. There will also be considerable time spent at the offices of our clients, both in and outside the UK. Regular travel for up to three weeks at a time outside the UK is expected.

Reporting to: The Chief Executive who leads the delivery of all GoodCorporation assessment work.

Primary job purpose: To lead a small team to undertake GoodCorporation assessments, produce reports and present results to clients.

Secondary job purpose: To assist in the development and growth of the business.
