Our teams are increasingly hungry for data and business insights which has been fuelling the recent growth of our Data Team. We are looking to hire a candidate with an exceptional development potential who is passionate about data; with the relevant training, they will help various teams across the business with data mining, analysis, visualisation, interpretation and gaining the necessary insights to make real business improvements. Key responsibilities will include producing both ad-hoc reports and analysis, as well as automating and building data analysis and visualisation tools to be used across the business.

  • An exceptionally logical approach, commercial curiosity and a strive for accuracy and detail.
  • A highly analytical mind with notable problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills to both technical and non-technical members of the business.
  • Aspiration to learn fast and develop a strong skill set in the field of Big Data.
  • University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics / Statistics, Engineering, Economics / Econometrics or other quantitative or science-based subject (desirable but not indispensable depending on prior work experience).

Do your skills and interests include the following?
  • Strong quantitative skills and feeling comfortable working with large data sets.
  • Some knowledge of SQL and Microsoft Excel, with a strong desire to develop these skills rapidly through in-house and / or 3rd party training.
  • Some knowledge of at least one scripting language (e.g. PHP, Python) and Linux development environment, with a strong desire to develop these skills rapidly through in-house and / or 3rd party training.

Please note that prior knowledge / experience in all of the above is desirable but not indispensable and should not discourage applicants. Graze has a culture focused on developing potential in individuals who enjoy learning new skills in a fast moving environment.

‘Bonus points’ skills

  • Advanced PHP scripting and knowledge of the Zend Framework
  • Experience using MapReduce, NoSQL and AWS Redshift
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau
