Graze is a fast-growth, online food company started by 7 friends who all share a passion for food. We deliver tasty, natural snacks through the post in the UK and the US and since our official launch in January 2009 we have grown massively. We currently employ approx. 250 people split between our offices in the UK and the US and the three factories in Feltham, Hayes (UK) and New Jersey (US).

About the role

Graze is a unique British success story, employing exceptionally talented people across the business who share a data-driven ethos when forming business strategies. Our teams are increasingly hungry for data and business insights and this has been fuelling the recent growth of our Data Team. 

We are looking to hire a candidate extremely passionate about data with an exceptional development potential; with the relevant training and guidance, they will be able to fully embrace the following key responsibilities (though not limited to the below):

  • Develop an excellent understanding of our data and its current as well as future potential uses
  • Help design, develop and maintain our in-house Data Warehouse system
  • Enable teams from all areas of the business to make real strategic decisions by developing, automating and maintaining key business reports, data visualisation tools and other data analysis tools
  • Work with the latest technologies in the Big Data field such as AWS Redshift, Tableau and MixPanel
  • Investigate, test and prototype new Big Data technologies and solutions in order to maintain an agile response to our changing data needs and latest developments in this exhilarating field


Do you fit the following description?

  • A highly analytical mind with notable problem-solving skills
  • An exceptionally logical approach, commercial curiosity and strive for accuracy and detail
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills to both technical and non-technical members of the business
  • Aspiration to learn fast and develop a strong skillset in the field of Big Data
  • Some prior work experience in data technologies, software or web development
  • A degree in a quantitative or science-based subject (desirable but not indispensable depending on prior work experience)


Do your skills and interests include the following?

  • Strong quantitative skills and feeling comfortable working with large data sets
  • Good experience with at least one scripting language (e.g. PHP, Python), with a strong desire to further develop these skills through in-house and/or 3rd party training
  • Some knowledge of SQL with a strong desire to develop these skills rapidly through in-house and / or 3rd party training


‘Bonus points’ skills

  • Degree in software engineering or other computer science based subject
  • Experience using AWS Redshift
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau
