Graze is a fast-growth, online food company started by 7 friends who all share a passion for food. We deliver tasty, natural snacks through the post in the UK and the US and since our official launch in January 2009 we have grown massively. We currently employ approx. 250 people split between our head office in Richmond, our factory in Feltham and our new state of the art facility in Hayes.

About the role

Graze is a unique British success story, employing exceptionally talented people across the business who share a data-driven ethos when forming business strategies. Our teams are increasingly hungry for data and business insights and this has been fuelling the recent growth of our Data Team. We are looking to hire a candidate with an exceptional development potential who is passionate about data; with the relevant training, they will be able to fully embrace the following responsibilities:

  • Respond to ad-hoc data requests from other teams
  • Help teams from all areas of the business with data querying, analysis, visualisation, interpretation and gaining the necessary insights to make real improvements
  • Produce both ad-hoc reports and analysis, as well as automate and build data analysis and visualisation tools
  • Offer data support for our e-mail marketing campaigns
  • Manage the segmentation of data for e-mails sent to our customers
  • Support the process of e-mail personalisation from a data perspective
  • Retrospective data retrieval, visualisation and KPI analysis of e-mail sends
  • Advise on the design of testing and subsequent analysis of marketing campaigns

Do you fit the following description?

  • An exceptionally logical approach, commercial curiosity and strive for accuracy and detail
  • A highly analytical mind with notable problem-solving skills
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills to both technical and non-technical members of the business
  • Aspiration to learn fast and develop a strong skill set in the field of Big Data
  • An overall understanding of the considerations which are integral to a good experience for online customers
  • A degree in  a quantitative or science-based subject (desirable but not indispensable depending on prior work experience)
  • Some prior work experience in data technologies and/or e-mail marketing  

Do your skills and interests include the following?

  • Strong quantitative skills and feeling comfortable working with large data sets
  • Some knowledge of SQL with a strong desire to develop these skills rapidly through in-house and / or 3rd party training
  • Some knowledge of at least one scripting language (e.g. PHP, Python) and Linux development environment, with a strong desire to develop these skills rapidly through in-house and/or 3rd party training

‘Bonus points’ skills

  • Advanced knowledge of at least one scripting language
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau
  • Experience using AWS Redshift
