We are start-up Social Enterprise with great potential but are grappling with human resource challenges in Uganda, Africa. We have a team in place and need a strong, mature and experienced leader to give us a head start as we train the workers we currently have.

We are looking for an entrepreneur who will create and re-create our operation, growing it from 3 existing staff members. The role involves a lot of strategic forecasting, agri business research, flexibility and independence.

The individual will craft a vision, first and foremost that creates sustainability in the short to medium term, and craft a vision that results in the best possible customer service to farmers.

  • You will work with the team to develop a strategic work plan with reasonable budget backed up with forecasts and estimated ROI.
  • You will ensure financial responsibility within the team and keep everybody accountable, as well as introduce cost cutting measures to creatively keep Hiinga expenditures as lean as possible.
  • You will invest their energy in our human resources, utilize them so that Hiinga can expect the maximum out of them, and empower them to succeed on their jobs to become leaders.
  • You will apply their business experience to bring structure to the organization, and make our outfit ready for mid-scaling from roughly 250 farming entrepreneurs to 3,000-5,000 by end of 2014.
  • You will help in the design and creation of metrics for measuring impact, data collection methods and ensuring that data is consistently evaluated and social impact measured.
  • You will enforce a serious work ethic and yet create a fun environment that fosters community and rewards hard work.
  • You will work with the team to create and maintain a consistent schedule of reportage, to provide insightful messaging to our donors, board of directors, and other stakeholders.
  • In consultation with the CEO, he or she will identify, recruit and interview an individual to ably succeed him or her at the end of their term.

If this sounds like you please do send us an email with your details. We look forward to hearing from you.
