In the Maldives English is taught as a second language to local children from a very young age. English is used frequently throughout their lives and proficiency is essential if they wish to get a job in the countries largest industry, tourism. As a volunteer teaching English you will obviously need to have a high level yourselves, although no teaching experience is necessary. Passion for helping a tropical community is a must. Volunteer fee required.
