The successful candidate will be leading a busy and dynamic team focussing on the development and implementation of a wide range of strategic and cross-cutting European environmental policy issues at both the European and national levels. This is a key senior role within the Institute.

We are seeking an outstanding candidate with an established reputation in the field, strong areas of acknowledged expertise, an excellent record of achievement. The successful candidate must have demonstrated strong intellectual capacity in policy analysis at EU level. He or she is also required to have a strong track record of successfully bidding for and obtaining funds for work, managing teams of researchers and providing oversight of publications and other outputs.

For the right candidate there is an opportunity to make a real difference to policy outcomes. IEEP has been at the forefront of EU environmental policy development since the inception of this policy field.

Our work involves frequent contact with the European Commission, the European Parliament and other key stakeholders in Brussels. A successful candidate will need to have the skills and confidence to represent the Institute at a variety of fora in London, Brussels and elsewhere. He or she will need to demonstrate the ability to take on new tasks and responsibilities with enthusiasm, intellectual rigour and a strong sense of initiative.
