Invisible Children (“IC”) is seeking a new leader to build and lead our Development Department. For the past nine years, IC has been focused on achieving a permanent end to LRA violence in Central Africa. We have built a constituency of millions of engaged supporters and donors (email list of 3.2 million subscribers; largest charity on Facebook with 3 million followers).
Our development model is truly unique, as the majority of our funding (annual average: $10-15M) comes from small donations from young people in the U.S. and around the world. This year, following the viral success of KONY 2012 and nearly a decade of grassroots organizing, we are looking to professionalize our Development Department, steward our constituency to become long-term financial supporters, and cultivate top donor relationships.
Job Summary:
The Director of Development will join the IC management team at the highest level, working directly with our COO, CEO, and Board of Directors to set a development strategy and drive revenue generation. Our ideal candidate has a strong background in development and major gifts and is ready to embrace this unique opportunity to build and lead a professional development operation on top of the world’s largest youth movement.
