About Living Goods Advisory

Living Goods is growing fast.  We’re expanding in Uganda, opening in Kenya and in 2012 Living Goods launched its Advisory division to dramatically scale impact through partnerships and influence.  The Advisory team supports a variety of clients who are adapting and replicating the Living Goods model.  Our goal is to catalyse the field of micro-franchising in service of the poor.

Position Overview

As Partnerships Associate, you will help grow the Advisory unit, supporting our clients as they start-up their own enterprises, and bringing in new business for LG.  You will also lead special operations projects for LG Uganda and LG Kenya operations, as part of our continual focus on learning and improving our own business model.

We’re looking for someone with a blend of strong management consulting and emerging markets experience who is eager to roll up their sleeves and build this new unit within Living Goods. We’re a small organization striving for big impact, so we expect you to be proactive and energetic, with a ‘start-up’ attitude. We have high standards, but are committed to supporting you with the feedback, training and opportunities you need to succeed.This position is based out of our regional offices in Kampala, Uganda, or Nairobi, Kenya. 30-50% regional travel is expected.

Qualifications

  • 2 + years of management consulting experience with top firm with proven track record of exceeding expectations, or equivalent experience in a fast-paced intense-learning environment
  • Top-notch quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and proven success proposing useful solutions for internal or external clients
  • Proven ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner and inspire confidence in a wide variety of audiences
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and professional maturity; ability to work independently, think creatively, learn quickly and know when to seek support
  • Experience working with culturally diverse teams in developing countries, preferably Sub Saharan Africa
  • BA required
  • Experience in direct selling, franchising, or BoP distribution a plus
