Job Summary and Mission

The Sales and Community Outreach Manager is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive group sales and marketing plan to drive revenue for the Make Meaning brand. Your success will be measured by the amount of overall combined sales and increased store traffic. You will also be expected to integrate your skills and acumen into the local community, creating buzz and media marketing opportunities for Make Meaning.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

You will identify and secure group sales business prospects and develop relationships in the local market to help grow group and business event opportunities by joining pertinent networking and business affiliation groups. Participation in local events with Make Meaning brand exposure potential to target audiences.

You may partner with landlords, adjacent tenants, relevant local attractions, restaurants or other pertinent organizations for track-able programs, i.e coupons and discounts.

You will pursue all kinds of opportunities, though not limited to the following:
  • Local companies for networking, consumer, team building or corporate events
  • Local schools and camps for educational events and programming such as school certificate programs, classes, fundraisers and teacher events
  • Local grassroots organizations centered on sports, athletics and other enrichment programs
  • Senior community centers, children’s and teen centers, clubs and religious groups
  • Special interest groups including parenting groups, bridal parties and DYI groups
  • Better business bureau, chambers of commerce, hotels and visitor centers for referral programs and corporate meetings
Additional responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
  • Communicate with the home office and generate meaningful content for social media channels for Make Meaning and landlord’s social media channels, where applicable.
  • Exceed weekly, monthly and quarterly quota for cold calls, sales calls and meetings. Track all contacts in Salesforce. �Document all business communication and prospecting in Salesforce.
  • Deliver objectives and results in terms of group sales and measurable programs.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • 3 + years related experience with proven track record in sales, business development, media relations or hospitality sales.
  • Self-motivated and highly organized
  • Superior Presentation skills
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of SalesForce a plus
  • Proficient in building strong working relationships
  • Ability to cold call and source new clients
  • Strong sales and negotiating skills
  • Detail oriented and results driven
