Online Marketing Manager with a strong analytical background and experience in PPC / Search Marketing required to join Marin’s growing Tokyo office. The Online Marketing Manager is responsible for providing proactive strategic recommendations and rapid response to agency and advertiser clients across the region. You will need strong technical and communication skills, both verbal and written, the ability to work with customers under a variety of circumstances and pressures, and understand and meet customer expectations. 

Key Responsibilities 
  • Lead customer to a marketing strategy (paid search/social/mobile/display) that will best achieve their goals, define key business/success metrics and monitor/report goals in order to provide visibility to customers
  • Drive usage and adoption of the Marin Enterprise platform through on-going usage reviews, account performance planning and establishment of best practices
  • Deliver a very high level of customer satisfaction on basic and advanced trainings
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with customers allowing the full potential of the Marin Enterprise solution to be realized
  • Work within a driven and highly motivated team to provide a world-class client experience for some of the world's largest brands
  • Stay informed of industry news, new best practices and emerging technologies 

You will be client focused, commercially savvy, and have strong technical abilities along with excellent communication skills in English and Japanese, both verbal and written. You will have an eye for detail, an inquiring mind and a thirst for understanding how systems work and how to get the most out of them.

  • Strong Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in an analytical subject
  • Fluent in Japanese and English
  • Solid commercial Search Marketing experience (running PPC campaigns on Google, Yahoo! and Bing) 
  • Strong technical understanding including website analytics tools, URLs, URL encoding, parameter passing, Javascript and HTML 
  • Outstanding Excel data management including expertise in organising data for analysis, pivot table building, and chart construction, pattern and trend recognition using Excel-based tools to aggregate large amounts of data
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL queries (MySQL preferred) 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in technical and customer-facing situations 
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new information in customer-facing scenarios 
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to successfully interact with both non-technical customers and technical support staff at customer organisations 
  • Independent, self-motivated and success-driven, yet willing to work within a team environment 
  • Understanding of online media metrics and their impact on client campaigns/experience with paid search, online marketing, or other biddable media preferred
