Nkwichi Lodge is a hidden, hand-built lodge located in the north-western corner of Mozambique, on the eastern side of Lake Malawi (or Lake Niassa as it is called on the Mozambican side). Nkwichi Lodge has been recognized as a pioneering eco-tourism establishment and has been awarded many accolades, including Africa’s Leading Responsible Tourism Company and Best Small Hotel/Accommodation at the Virgin Responsible Tourism Awards. The most recent achievement is the Overall Winner and Best in Community Empowerment of the Kutoa Community Impact Awards 2012.

ABOUT
Nkwichi is a hand-built, luxury eco-lodge that aims to empower the local population of Manda Wilderness, a conservation area run by the communities. Situated on one of the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches of Africa and within one of the last true, pristine wilderness, the lodge makes a unique backdrop to an extremely rewarding volunteer project.

This is a unique opportunity for an adventurous, qualified Chef to come and live on the sugary, white shores. Your role would be to oversee management of a busy kitchen in Nkwichi Lodge.

Working closely with a team of 6 local chefs you will train them in organisation and quality control, and develop new recipes from the unique range of locally grown fruits, vegetables and other supplies.      
  • Work hours are from 0700 - 1700
  • This is contract from May to September (this is negotiable)
