The first role is a New Business Executive, sitting within the Development category (which includes stationery, food & drink, toys & games and baby care departments). In this team, you’ll be working exclusively with potential new sellers, inviting new businesses to join our site.  Your passion for supporting and growing small businesses, coupled with your drive and determination to recruit the cream of the UK and Ireland’s design talent will help to grow our Partner base and drive sales.

The other role is to work within our central Business Development team, helping the team that identifies, develops and delivers a range of growth opportunities for the business. In this role, you will support the team in researching and implementing multiple initiatives while they continue to identify and develop further opportunities for future delivery.   This is a small entrepreneurial team that work alongside Product Development, the Commercial team and the CEO to drive the continued growth of notonthehighstreet.com.


What the Role Entails

Some of the things you could get involved in within these roles include: 

  • Engaging with customers, suppliers and with cross functional team members
  • Supporting a range of activities including research, lead development and conversion  (over the phone, online and in the field)
  • Helping to identify range expansion opportunities within the market,
  • Recognising optimal Partner growth opportunities and generate potential new Partners for your category by sourcing small-business leads
  • Be the voice of notonthehighstreet.com to new Partners – effectively communicating the benefits of joining our community by varying the approach according to the audience
  • Keeping a close eye on the figures, you will monitor, analyse and report on Partner and product growth within your category, ensuring continued development of the range and the breadth of products on offer

You will relish a challenge and enjoy working in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment.  We’re looking for people who are comfortable engaging with customers, suppliers and cross functional team members across the business at all levels of seniority.


The Key Skills and Experience We Need

  • Previous experience either within Business Development role, or a product and/or Partner sourcing within relevant market(s)
  • A passion for online consumer retail (previous experience of working within an e-commerce environment is desirable)
  • Results driven attitude and an instinctive, intuitive and creative approach to problems
  • Confidence in liaising with a wide range of people and excellent written and oral communication skills,
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities with a well-organised approach and attention to detail. It is essential that you are also target-driven.
