Captain of revenue
 
The good ship onefinestay sails in commercial seas, and needs someone who has the tang of revenue permanently implanted in their nostrils to help us navigate to the shores of income maximisation.

You will be able to analyse the perishable inventory we carry on board, our homes, and help us to make sense of which homes to sell, to whom, when and for how much.

You won’t be a faint-hearted land lubber. The waters are fast, and decisions you make will have a big impact – but you’ll have autonomy and control and your natural commercial intuition will fill our sails as we head towards the coast of gold.
 
Responsibilities
  • Use disciplined analytics and segmentation analysis to optimise inventory supply and price, and maximise growth in revenue
  • Monitor on a daily basis our inventory stocks and flows, to develop a detailed and intuitive understanding of which homes to discount and when
  • Implementing tactical promotions in relation to demand and supply segments
  • Tactically distribute inventory to channel partners
  • Ensure that our unhotel is competitively positioned within the local market
  • Reviewing the constant stream of bookings, and actively working with our reservations team to provide commercial guidance
  • Design and manage the tools and IT systems required to build a sophisticated revenue management capability
  • Create the tools that to monitor the performance of your system and to take fast action where required

Experience and skills:
  • Commercial and analytical focus, with revenue or yield management experience
  • Strong understanding of economic principles such as marginal cost
  • Able to design and implement new processes
  • Can navigate a complex, fast moving and busy environment
  • Making Excel models is as natural as breathing

Personal qualities:
  • Capable of making decisions quickly and with conviction
  • An analytical mind, to tackle complex problems and long-term strategic initiatives, as well as focus on day-to-day revenue management
  • Hungry to maximise returns and achieve targets and objectives
  • Ready to muck in, with your sleeves are rolled up, permanently
