We’re sending to market for a mother hen (or feathered father) who’ll join us to take on the challenge of hiring people for the unhotel. Our fast-growing, super seasonal business revolves around our people, and managing recruitment for our core operational teams has become a fully-fledged, full-time job.

Hiring is always at the top of our list. We need to recruit, engage and manage a brood of plucky temporary workers (with very different skillsets) according to the peaks and dips of our business’ busyness. 

We want someone with proven recruitment skills and experience managing high volume hiring projects, ideally on a busy temp desk. And as you’ll be spreading your wings in a small HR team, you’ll also need a firm grip of general HR issues. Remember: we still think like a startup, so you’ll need to stay flexible, unfazed and cheerful when the fox is loose.
 
Responsibilities
  • Managing all stages of temp direct recruitment: advertising, screening applications, managing assessment centres, arranging interviews, overseeing the offer process and checking references
  • Managing our preferred supplier list of temporary agencies day to day: building relationships, ensuring engagement, strong performance and accurate hiring documentation
  • Solving temporary worker issues with operations managers
  • Designing and implementing temporary recruitment and on-boarding process
  • Updating systems and trackers with accurate temp data and managing temp employee files
  • Coordinating temp new joiner process and HR induction
  • Providing data/temp reports and recruitment analysis for leadership team, when required
  • Working with operations managers on temp worker engagement, retention and people initiatives
  • Working with the wider HR team on recruitment or people projects, when required
  • Occasionally attend activities in our homes around London
  • Other ad-hoc duties when required

This role may involve being on-call over weekends (one in three) especially during peak hiring periods.
 
Skills and experience
  • Experience of leading volume recruitment projects in a rapidly growing business (a startup background would be great)
  • Agency recruitment experience, especially temp desk, is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills:you’ll need to be confident communicating on a variety of levels to your onefinestay co-workers as well as your external contacts
  • Excellent organisational skills: this is a hectic environment involving lots of different people
  • A good understanding of general HR issues and process
  • Strong administrative and systems skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience of using recruitment systems
