Outward Bound Costa Rica
San Ramon de Tres Rios, Costa Rica
Founded in 1991, Outward Bound Costa Rica offers a range of experiential education programs to high school and college students that promise challenging physical activities across Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama with a focus on personal development, leadership, and cultural immersion
Outward Bound Costa Rica inspires and develops leadership, compassion, responsibility, respect for the environment and commitment to serve through adventure-based wilderness experiences led by a skilled, safety-conscious staff. We offer expeditions in Costa Rica, Panama and Nicaragua where students can hike, white water raft, river and sea kayak, become certified in Scuba Diving, rappel. live in homestay families, practice Spanish and much more. Test your skills, go beyond what you imagine, immerse yourselve in a new culture and hone your leadership skills.
Why are we exciting?
Because as the Communications staff we experience all Outward Bound Costa Rica has to offer - trips to the jungle to rappel 60-ft waterfalls, scuba certification in Bocas del Toro, Panama, white water rafting and hiking the volanoes of our beautiful country. Because we are family with our Costa Rican staff we work alongside of and the communities in which we volunteer. Because our instructors can trek through jungles, shred the gnar, battle whitewater rapids in both raft and kayak, rappel trees and scuba dive all while setting an example for the students they lead.
Because we live "la pura vida"... and we love it!
What can we offer Escapees?
You will find an element of adventure in any of our jobs at Outward Bound Costa Rica. Our organization offers employment opportunities in both the Marketing and Programming Offices as well as in the field. Contracts can be either short or long-term, depending on the position.
We recruit the majority of our foreign national field instructors through our Outdoor Leader Semester course, as it gives an important overview of the Outward Bound philosophy as well as vital technical training (including seven internationally recognized outdoor certifications).
