PleaseCycle is growing exponentially, about to launch new products into the market and has received major funding, as well as expanding globally. We are not simply looking for an Account Manager to sit in the same role for their ‘career’ with us. We want to find an ambitious individual with entrepreneurial flair to create the next product, or enhance the current offering. We need someone who wants the opportunity to get new experiences in a highly entrepreneurial environment, as their desire requires, perhaps moving into new areas with time, such as sales, marketing, to handle some of the finance, manage a small team of account handlers, technical design – as you wish and can prove you have the capability.
Overview The Account Manager will manage the implementation and ongoing support for multiple accounts. The candidate will ensure that utilization of the product is maximized through effectively marketing and liaising with the client and participants.   Background Info An Account Manager is required to join the rapidly growing team at PleaseCycle – a behavioral change specialist utilizing technology to get more people cycling. With a rapidly growing corporate- and public sector client-base, PleaseCycle provides a technology solution which rewards, incentivizes and tracks increases in cycling over the course of the contract. Roles and Responsibilities
  • Implement ‘CycleHubs’ for clients once sold – liaise between client stakeholders on new accounts and the technical team to customize the look and feel of each site (e.g. placement of logos and content on the site). No technical experience is necessary in this liaison capacity.
  • Prizes and Competitions - source prizes from across the fitness industry to sponsor prizes to use in client CycleHubs so as to encourage utilisation
  • Ongoing account management – forge strong relationships with ongoing operational stakeholders (‘cycle chapions’) so as to continuously drive utilization of the CycleHub. Identify product improvements and communicate to the Account Director and Technical team.
  • Facilitate ongoing marketing – utilize existing communications templates (emails, posters etc)to brand with client logos and push out so as to drive ongoing usage. We encourage creativity to make this as effective as possible, for example media stunts or PR.
  • Create a successful outcome (a sustained increased in cycling) – so that the client signs up for further challenges in subsequent years
  • End of event reports – from data gathered throughout the event, using a reporting template, product end of event reports showing the impact of the initiative


Skills and Experience required

As with any professional services organization, PleaseCycle’s success depends on it’s client-facing staff being professional, friendly, delivering what was sold and capable of building strong relationships. An Account Manager will possess the following:
  • Presentable and enthusiasm to over-deliver to client expectations
  • Driven individual with a proven track record of picking something up and running with it, creatively defining the solution for an agreeable outcome. There is no ‘right’ way to get the outcome required as every client differs.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task across multiple clients – project management experience highly desirable
  • Ability to sell the product and your skills so as to appear credible at all times
  • Able to forge and build relationships at a senior level
  • Experience and desire to work in an unstructured environment without close management where The Directors can trust your autonomy will deliver
  • Interest in technology and cycling would be beneficial but not vital

Hours/ flexible work-life-balance: a regular 0900 – 1700 working day with flexibility to work from home and flexible hours after 3 months if proven ability to deliver autonomously.
