Poncho 8 was started in 2009 by ex-city workers and two friends, Frank and Nick. They were looking for more than your average day to day office routine. 

After developing a healthy obsession with Mexican food they felt that setting up a business to make and sell the stuff was a pretty straight-forward decision.


Poncho 8 is a young, dynamic and growing chain of Mexican food outlets with a focus on fresh, healthy, tasty food. Voted "London's Best Burrito" by Esquire and The Evening Standard - we think it's safe to say we're onto something awesome!

The People

We are energetic, social, honest, engaged, adaptive, impressive, curious and excellent. There are five of us in the central team, come and be team member number six!

The Role

Based out of our Head Office, your main responsibility will be working alongside our Commercial Director in driving sales through our new Delivery Services, as well as assisting in marketing and other sales building initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity to get proper experience with real ownership and responsibility in an entrepreneurial and fast-growing food startup. You will be on point to build out our sales function for Poncho Deliveries.

The Candidate

  • Able to effectively manage and report your own time, in line with given sales targets;
  • Able to get stuff done (!) ;
  • Presentable and outgoing, as you will be meeting with potential customers on a regular basis;
  • Proficient at organising and carrying out targeted sales calls, sales visits and presentations;
  • Able to build strong relationships with connectors;
  • Comfortable with managing invoices;
  • Looking to develop the sales role into one that you intend to manage as a larger function in the future, as our company grows;
  • Able to direct teams of dynamic, energetic and driven employees; and
  • Able to present the progress that you will make with your set targets in easily understandable statistical formats (i.e. intermediate level knowledge of MSExcel).

The right candidate will be motivated by using this as an opportunity to progress rapidly in their career. You will be motivated by the 10% revenue bonus and you will understand how this role will help you get to where you want to go in your career.

Previous Experience

  • We would like some catering / food & drink sector experience but it's not a deal-breaker if you don't have it - come show us how good you are.
