Quick Release is a managed service provider, specialising in Bill of Material (BoM) control within industries with complex products and global manufacturing strategies.

For non-techies that means that we provide top-notch software and data for companies building high-spec technology. We are an exciting and entrepreneurial young company and we're growing fast.

What is the role?

The goal of the HR strategy and talent manager will be to create an innovative HR environment within Quick Release to embrace and support our positive company culture (refer to the 4 QR's on our website). The initial focus will be to review existing policy and where necessary, to create and implement new strategies.

What is the plan?

Quick Release currently plans to hire 70 new employees over a 4 year period through a variety of recruitment channels. The HR Strategy and Talent Manager will be fully integrated in this process and will be responsible for ensuring that we have the tools in place to attract and retain key talent in our organisation.

Why should you care?

This is an exciting opportunity to bring your proven resourcing and talent experience to this crucial role in a competitive environment, and see what a difference you can make.

What will you do?

With a real sense of ownership, the HR Strategy and Talent manager will drive individual career development, CPD and the performance review processes, closely working with supervisors and the board of directors to ensure successful delivery.

In addition to the long and mid-term initiatives, the HR strategy and talent manager should also handle day to day HR administration and advise on employment law/strategy as required.

The initial engagement period should also include an assessment of communication channels, implementing any appropriate adjustments, and finally adopting the function of a communications filter.

What will your responsibilities be?

We're looking for someone with experience in a HR environment, looking to take real ownership of company HR strategy and undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Assess and map talent within the business, identify opportunities for development and roll out succession plans with a focus on retention.
  • Evaluate current processes and evolve, implement, & manage company-wide personal development strategy.
  • Identify and monitor key metrics for the business in management of talent, performance and succession.
  • Advise the Board of Directors in any legal issues associated with Human Resources management.
  • Manage all employment-related correspondence.
  • Work with senior management on performance management issues.
  • Set and manage HR related budgets.
  • Work with training providers to develop suitable content for the personal development process.
  • Advise & recommend in identifying and hiring top talent.
  • Carry out HR administration tasks as and when required.
  • Must be willing to travel to sites in Germany and the West Midlands.

What skills and attributes are required?

“There are many diverse personalities within Quick Release. The average age of an employee is 24, and we have a high intake of talented graduates, so one of the key skills will be to build collaborative and engaging relationships with the team whilst being able to command respect at the same time.
"

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A positive, energetic character coupled with a willingness to get involved with all aspects of developing a motivated and highly engaged team.
  • A "can-do" attitude, driving innovation and positive company culture through example.
  • The ability to work independently, you will be highly self-motivated with excellent organisation skills.
  • The ability to inspire confidence in the personal development process.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, excelling at managing expectations.
  • Trustworthiness and discretion.
  • Confidence in building relationships and the ability to influence others.
  • Strategic alignment with the objectives of the QR Board of Directors.
  • A professional but highly approachable disposition.
  • Knowledge of up-to-date use of IT in HR Management.

What experience should you have?
  • At least 3 years’ experience of working in a challenging HR environment.
  • Experience delivering talent management initiatives in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Proven ability to innovate and implement.
  • Knowledge and implementation experience in talent assessment, performance management, succession planning and talent mapping.
  • Demonstrable experience in working with and influencing senior stakeholders.

Education:

A degree or a postgraduate qualification may be an advantage, but not essential as skills and experience are key. Relevant HR qualifications are required at certificate level or above.

Location:
UK (South East) based but will be required to travel to Germany and the West Midlands once a month. Time will be split between office and customer site. You will need to have your own car with a valid driver's licence and passport for travel in the EU.
