David Cameron described dementia this year as “one of the greatest challenges of our time”.  Worldwide there are more than 36 million people living with dementia, 820,000 of which live in the UK alone.  In 2010, dealing with dementia cost the world £380 billion.  That’s 1% of global GDP.  In the UK, annual expenditure on dementia is £23 billion, a figure projected to increase to £50 billion by 2040.  This is a sum of immense proportions that brings with it novel opportunities for socially conscious enterprise.

Red and Yellow Care is a dynamic start-up company with a vision to provide innovative world-class dementia care services.   In an industry set to be one of the fastest growing sectors over the next decade, there are, as yet, no organisations to emerge with a truly holistic approach.  Our aim is to change this.

About you

As Digital Entrepreneur, you will be a key part of the team.  You will be responsible for designing and developing the entire digital side of the business, including the digital architecture, multiple websites and portals and a social community for the 3rd Age.  

The successful candidate will:

• Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in designing and developing digital platforms.

• Have proven experience of driving digital strategy and managing digital operations.

• Show an awareness in each of the following areas, with specialism in at least two: system architecture; design and development; online content and editing; and, e-marketing and communications.

• Have an entrepreneurial spirit and take initiative.  Our concept is unique and our vision is to change the face of the digital landscape for the 3rd Age. 

• Be autonomous and confident in the decisions that you make.  You will play a key role.

• Have a broad skill set.  We are a small and dynamic team and you will need to get involved and apply your skills across the board.

• Have exceptional organisational and communication skills.  You will have tight budgets and deadlines.

• Not necessarily have any working knowledge of the healthcare sector.  It is digital and commercial skills we are looking for.

 It goes without saying that you are hardworking and highly motivated.
