The Construction & Refit Office is currently going through a period of innovation and development, with the introduction of condition based maintenance across the fleet and the creation of a new in-house, lean manufacturing and maintenance facility for our all weather lifeboats. This, coupled with production of the new Shannon Class Lifeboat and its launch & recovery system, makes this an exciting time to join the team.

About you

We are looking for an individual to support the Principal Technical Projects Manager in ensuring customer project requirements are defined, agreed and delivered to the required standard. This is a great opportunity to become a pivotal member of the Construction and Refit Office. Responsible for project and resource planning, you will assist the customer in clearly defining requirements and helping the delivery team to meet strict quality, time and cost targets.

Being an experienced Enterprise Project Manager, you will be capable of planning a large number of projects (circa 500 per annum) across multiple work streams to ensure these variable packages of work can be delivered to an efficient production schedule. The workload is challenging and the role requires first-rate communication skills to deliver complex project solutions to a variety of audiences.

You will work with project stakeholders to drive continuous improvement through the application of lean manufacturing principals and QMS to achieve the best value outcome for the RNLI. You’ll also work closely with members of the Construction & Refit Office team, interpreting data and assisting in carrying out project reviews to understand where project deliverables can be improved and processes refined to make best use of resource and skills.

Proven experience managing multi-streamed project portfolios using MS Project is essential, along with excellent organisational and IT skills. Knowledge of MS Project Server would be highly desirable.

We look forward to hearing from you.
