You can’t buy a ticket; you can’t win a ticket; you have to earn a ticket. RockCorps has produced more than 40 live concerts for 200,000 volunteers in 8 countries and is launching in South Africa for the first time. This launch provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the right candidate.

Job Description

Main purpose of the job

Manage the RockCorps warehouse and co-ordinate the supplies needed at all community projects.

Qualifications and Skills Level

  • Educated to a degree level
  • Experience of building relationships across sectors
  • Have demonstrated experience in project management that includes but is not limited to: strong communication and
  • negotiation skills, managing a team, budgeting, excellent time management, resourcefulness, and comfortable with supply
  • inventory
  • Skills in basic painting, gardening/landscaping, mural making, and/or carpentry
  • Possess logistical and cultural knowledge of Gauteng and local communities
  • Computer skills: Fluency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work flexible hours and days; including evenings and weekends
  • Have a great attitude, be a team player and be a self-starter
  • Possess flexibility and an ability to manage multiple tasks, under deadlines
  • Have strong decision-making skills with ability to work independently
  • Be able to carry and lift 9kg
  • A valid Code 10 driver’s license, preferably with own panel van, and be able to drive to work at sites all over Gauteng to
  • transport supplies and equipment for projects
  • Experience as a volunteer or working with volunteer groups desirable
  • Ability to speak at least one African language desirable
  • A passion for the mission and empathy with the values of RockCorps
  • Have a love of music and sense of humour

Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Community Projects Manager by supporting overall operation of warehouse, inventory and supplies
  • Promote tool safety and appropriate tool usage at all events
  • Provide staff with a supply station at community projects and assist volunteers in tasks
  • Purchase and provide supplies for up to 100 volunteers at a community project
  • Keep warehouse and trucks organised, neat and tidy
  • Manage and possess consistent knowledge of inventory
  • Ensure programme meets budget requirements by purchasing products according to the guidelines and protocols of the
  • company and ensuring all appropriate paperwork has been completed
  • Examine supply procedures and recommend changes to save time and money by improving quality and efficiency
  • Provide basic training to staff on tool safety procedures and best practices
  • Verify order deliveries, pricing and scheduling
  • Protect company assets in warehouse
  • Respond to event enquiries, needs, and/or issues in a prompt and courteous manner
